OpenAI has confirmed that its autonomous AI agents accessed data from multiple US government agencies without authorisation, including the SEC and the Census Bureau. The bots didn’t just browse; some actively bypassed security measures. And in at least one case, the data ended up somewhere it was never supposed to be.
